《沉睡之地》将观众带到了一个神奇的新地方，在这个梦幻世界里，人小鬼大的尼莫（玛洛·巴克利饰）和她古怪的同伴弗利普（杰森·莫玛饰）开启了终生难忘的冒险之bbb。父亲皮特（凯尔·钱德勒饰）意外在海上失踪后，小尼莫在西北太平洋田园般的生活被彻底颠覆，她被送到城市，和她心地善良却极其笨拙的叔叔菲利普（克里斯·奥多德饰）一起生活。她的新学校和新生活在白天充满挑战，而到了晚上，一张通往沉睡之地奇幻世界的秘密地图让尼莫和弗利普建立了友谊。弗利普是一个性格粗暴但有点可爱的不法之徒，是尼莫的同伴和向导。尼莫和弗利普很快便踏上了一段穿越梦境、逃离噩梦的不可思议的旅程，并开始希望她能再次与父亲团聚。
