本片(剧)是一部中国大陆制片作品的国产剧，于2011年上映。对白语言为汉语普通话，目前豆瓣评分6.3(仅供参考)。
公元683年，唐高宗驾崩，其子李显（王昊 饰）继位，武氏皇太后（殷桃 饰）次年立李旦（田宇鹏 饰）为帝，废李显为庐陵王，从此开始了武则天独断朝纲的时aaa。嗣圣元年九月，徐敬业（董彦麟 饰）发动扬州叛乱，反对武则天独裁统治，武氏遣大军迅速平息，并诛杀了顾命大臣裴炎（杨洪武 饰）等朝内反对派，进一步巩固了执政地位。之后，她设计逼反李唐宗室，逐渐清除异己，凡是对自己执政不利的人统统诛杀之。为达到称帝之目的，她任人唯亲，滥用酷吏，并从古籍中寻找女人执掌天下的典故广布天下。她还建万象神宫，造祥瑞，为日后称帝大造舆论。在废黜李显后的第五年，即垂拱四年五月十八，武氏加尊“圣母神皇”向女皇梦迈出了第一步......
